Some encounters are meant to be! According to Herman's wife, there really can't be any more trees in the garden. Herman has absolutely transformed what used to be a paddock into a lush garden with many trees. And Nicolas' garden is already a forest!

Herman learned about Nicolas and the Miyawaki Method through an interview in a local magazine. This piqued Herman’s interest and he reached out to Nicolas. Both are from separate corners of Belgium, Herman is based in Flanders and Nicolas in Wallonia where the language and culture are different. The first encounter  was a little awkward but soon enough they found a common ground and started planting trees together.

Nicolas & Herman share a passion in planting more pocket forests! The regenerative force of the Miyawaki method is so very quick and impactful. They love meeting  new people and introducing them to ecosystem restoration and tree planting. And once a forest is planted, with so many memories still fresh of people having fun and learning about forest ecology, Herman and Nicolas can’t help but go back to see the evolution of every lush forest they helped create, full of living things and vegetative beauty.
