Don Bosco College in Zwijnaarde (Ghent) is a large and impressive school that stands tall above the city. Strongly committed to sustainability and environmentalism, their expansive campus is an ideal location for a Pocket Forest project.
The school community, which includes students, teachers, and parents, collaborates through questionnaires where everyone can submit proposals and vote on them. This inclusive approach ensures that everyone has a voice and plays an active role in shaping the future of the school.
This project provides an opportunity for students to learn about sustainable forestry practices and the importance of preserving natural resources.

Why Don Bosco College?
At Don Bosco College, the students and teachers are actively working on environmental initiatives. They work within GreenTeams - small groups of teachers and students who develop initiatives related to transportation, food, greening and softening the school, and reducing paper and plastic use. They decided to green the school facades and create a pocket forest as a result of this collaborative effort.
