Community

By providing an accessible green space, the project encourages people to foster a deeper appreciation for the environment and its conservation.

It offers an opportunity for individuals to engage with the natural world, learn about local ecosystems, and actively contribute to the preservation of urban biodiversity.

Through the collaborative efforts of the community, this initiative can build a sustainable and harmonious relationship between humans and nature, ensuring a greener and healthier future for generations to come.

“With this project we are helping a new neighborhood to build community and connections through nature, while increase climate resilience in a harsh environment.”

Pol Sierra, SUGi Forest Maker

Why the city of Griesheim?

This is particularly valuable in this new developing area of the city of Griesheim, which due to local regulations will be exposed to air traffic noise and will have few trees in the streets.

Additionally, the area is exposed to the neighboring arid farmland, which blows dry and dusty air into the area. The forest will contribute to mitigate all these factors and build climate resilience in years to come.
